Meross smartthings device handler

The meross msg garage door opener, works perfectly with smartthings app. Also adds into Google assistant, one thing though you have to add it separately into both Google and smartthings. Glad to hear it works well and easily with SmartThings as I just recently purchased this.

Honestly was so easy to setup and install. Seems odd. It does not work for more than two days in a row on SmartThings app. This means recreating any automation using the door as trigger, input or output. How long has it lasted you? I bought the latest device on December 12 and now I cannot return it.

I have been in touch with their customer support and I am not that sure if they take this SmartThings integration seriously. Just the steps to add it are confusing and incomplete. It is hack via one of those sockets or switch icons. After that you have to go back to home screen and hope it is added. It works fine when controlled by ST manually, and within the Meross app. The integration was built by Meross and will likely require their assistance in correcting this issue. As a Meross consumer, it is important that they are aware of issues you encounter when trying to integrate their devices with SmartThings.

Surely branded devices on that page should only be for objects that actually work together? In order to get as many devices as possible quickly available to smartthings users, device manufacturers can publish their own integrations that will then appear in the smartthings app.

This is a big difference from how things used to work with the classic app. The others are ones which the manufacturers have developed and submitted and are standing behind. I therefore came up with the idea of syncing a simulated switch with the device using automations in the new app.

Unfortunately, not possible as the app crashes every time I tap on the power option when creating the automation. The only device options that appear are socket and light switch. The garage door opener is not an option. In Amazon, they claimed it is supported in SmartThings. Was this bait?
